MOONSHINE TASTING & WORKSHOP
Seating is limited to 40 people
Distilling specialist Angel Rivera will talk about the history of pitorro, including why the spirit is also known as lagrima de montaña – tears of the mountain, while guests sample a flight. Three tastings of several fruit-flavored varieties are included. This program will be followed by a one-of-a-kind moonshine workshop!
Puerto Rico is famous for its rum but its vast sugar cane industry was also used to produce pitorro, (moonshine). As the Puerto Rican diaspora has spread throughout the United States, so have different aspects of the Puerto Rican culture and that has extended to the making of pitorro.
History Happy Hours include complimentary happy hour drinks and snacks. This series is sponsored by Therrien Waddell Construction Group.
